I know you read the title and got really excited to read about punching things, but the only punching that will be happening is metaphoric. Anyways, before I punch your feelings, I just want to preface that I’m no expert, and I’m just writing based on my experiences. I can’t speak for everyone, but I can speak for me.
My dearest reader, I have thought a lot about how our minds work, and I can confidently say I already know two things about you without even knowing you. One is that there has been a time in your life where you thought something was impossible. The second is that you did it. And if you’re anything like me, this is a cycle that repeats itself. It doesn’t matter how big or small your challenge is. You could be facing a challenge waking up or taking a shower, and you can also have challenges standing up for yourself or climbing Mt. Everest. The point is, adversity could be defined as anything, and if adversity is defined as anything, that means you can get through anything.
“So Will, what’s your point?” Well, I’m still trying to figure that out. Adversity is so different for everyone, which makes it very challenging to write about how to conquer it. I don’t want to speak for everyone, I just want to tell them that I know it’s possible to get through it. This post is about what we are capable of as people, and my attempts of tapping into that potential in the best ways for me is to prove we all have fight in us. There isn’t a way to do that without saying the phrase “it’s possible” a million times, and that made me upset, so I made my own method.
Punch adversity in the face. Literally. Be confident and reasonable. Be strong yet loose. Flexible. Illusive. Concentrated. Swift. I’m not just writing words, I’m describing how I’ve felt its best to approach these types of situations. I’m also describing a punch. Punch it.. Have a firm and reasonable grip while letting loose. Take the time you need to prepare your approach/strike, and then hit it where it hurts.
This is what I’ve found is most effective for me. Like I said, you might be very different. I just want to remind you that I’ve been here, you’ve been here, and we both are past that and here now. The bottom line is, you have to look at all aspects of your problem. Use your surroundings and resources to remind you that not all is lost. Study before your strike, and make decisions based off of this practice. I don’t have all the answers, but I can tell you that you can do it. Oh and please, punch responsibly.
